Regular sight tests are very important as they check not only your vision but also the general health of the eye and may pick up on other problems that would otherwise go unnoticed.

A sight test is £32.95 unless you are eligible for an NHS sight test, You are entitled to a NHS sight test if you can answer yes to any of the following;

  • Aged 60 or over
  • Aged Under 16
  • A full time student aged 16, 17 or 18
  • Receiving income support or income based jobseekers allowance
  • Own a pension credit guarantee card
  • Receive tax credit and you are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate
  • I am named on a valid HC2 certificate
  • I am registered blind/partially sighted with the local authority (Bucks)
  • I suffer from diabetes/glaucoma
  • I am considered to be at risk of glaucoma by an ophthalmologist
  • I am 40 or over and am the parent/brother/sister/child of a person who has or had glaucoma
  • I have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme
